I have gained so much weight. I am going on a diet”Hold it! Do you even know what a diet is? I don’t think most people know what the word diet means. The word diet means the things which we eat and drink. Going on a crazy diet won’t make you lose weight but instead makes you weak and you might even end up in the hospital. You wouldn’t want that to happen, would you? I don’t think so. So, follow these five simple steps and you will lose weight and won’t end up in the hospital either.Eat healthy: The first step towards a healthy body is to eat healthy. Don’t take in too much starch or fats. Eat food containing less cholesterol. Eat all classes of food; even those yucky greens, which many of you despise, because they contain your daily energy supply and don’t even make you fat.Exercise daily: It is the best way to keep fit and it burns down extra fat. You should exercise regularly. Every one of us should exercise at least half an hour daily. Exercising will make blood flow smoother and will also give a healthy colour to your cheeks.Sleep well: It has been proven by today’s most advanced research that children who sleep less are likely to be overweight. You should take at least eight hours of sleep daily. This gives your body time to relax.Snacking in between meals: This is a major NO! Don’t snack between meals. Eat proper meals only. Eat more but don’t take a little after every few minutes. And when you are hungry what’s better than a serving of fat free fruit or vegetable? So chow down.Be active: Just don’t sit around like a couch potato, be active. Put an end to those lazy habits and if you have nothing to do then clean your house. Participate in after school activities and in different types of competitions. This will not only keep your body healthy but keep you mentally alert and fit.So, follow these few simple steps and you will be as fit as a fiddle in no time.

Instead of using harmful chemical products, the best way to obtain a healthy glowing skin is the natural way, i.e. doing some form of exercise, which gets the blood circulating and delivers fresh oxygen to the skin all over your body.The next step is to drink plenty of water. Outdoor play or exercise, especially in the summer, increases your risk of dehydration. This is one risk you don’t want to take since it not only affects your performance and robs your skin of vitality, but it may also be potentially hazardous to your health.Be sure to drink fluids before, during and after physical activity. To replenish your fluids after any outdoor activity, weigh yourself before you participate and then weigh again after. Any weight you lost is water and should be replaced by drinking two glasses of water for every pound you have lost.Hair careSunrays are not only harmful for your skin but summer sun and humidity can also damage your hair’s cuticle and result in dry, drab, split, brittle or frizzy hair and ends.Hanging out in the sun without protection for your hair and scalp is the worst thing you can do. Use leave in hair products with SPF protection when you go outside or wear a hat or scarf to cover your hair.Consider washing your hair less often during the summer months to allow your hair to absorb more moisture. When possible, finish with a cool to cold rinse to seal the hair cuticle and impart natural shine.Don’t be careless about your trims. Make sure you have the ends trimmed every six to eight weeks during the summer months. When your ends are frizzy, it’s a sure sign that they are either damaged, split or both.PedicureA great pedicure will have you feeling confident about baring your feet this summer, or wearing your favourite sandals.Everyone knows that a good pedicure involves giving your feet a soak. But before that don’t forget to file your nails. Start by removing old nail polish with an acetone-free formula (keeps nails from getting dry and brittle). Follow the natural curve of your nails when filing.After soaking, apply a soothing lotion to your feet before bedtime, slip on the socks, and go to sleep.
